Add to Your Device
Install the Collaborative Operating System as an app — on your phone, tablet, or computer. No app store required.
Open in Safari
This only works in Safari — not Chrome or Firefox. If you opened this link in another browser, copy the URL and paste it into Safari.

At the bottom of the screen, tap the Share icon — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up.

You can edit the name if you’d like, then tap Add in the top right corner.

The app icon will appear on your home screen. Tap it anytime to open the guide — it always loads the latest content.
Why Safari? Apple only allows the “Add to Home Screen” app feature through Safari. Other browsers on iPhone can bookmark pages, but won’t create a true app icon.
Open in Chrome
Chrome gives you the best experience. Other Android browsers may also work, but Chrome is recommended.
Look for the install prompt
Chrome may automatically show a banner at the bottom of the screen saying “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”. If you see it, tap it and skip to step 4.

Looks just like a real app. On Android, installed web apps open without any browser bar or address field — it feels like a native app. It will also appear in your app drawer.
Open in Edge or Chrome
Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome both support installing this guide as a desktop app. Other browsers like Firefox don’t support installation the same way.
Edge or ChromeLook for the install icon in the address bar
On the right side of the address bar, look for a small icon that looks like a monitor with a down arrow or a plus sign. Click it.
Or use the browser menu
If you don’t see the icon: in Edge, click the three-dot menu → Apps → Install this site as an app. In Chrome, click the three-dot menu → Cast, save, and share → Install page as app.
Confirm and install
A dialog will appear. Click Install. The app will open in its own window — no browser bar, no tabs.
Pin it for easy access
The app is now in your Start menu. Right-click the app icon in the taskbar and choose Pin to taskbar, or drag it to your desktop for one-click access.
Auto-updating. Once installed, the app always loads the latest version of the guide whenever you’re online — no manual updates needed.

Safari (macOS Sonoma 14 or newer) supports “Add to Dock.” Chrome and Edge support “Install app” on any recent macOS.

The app now appears in Launchpad and your Applications folder. Drag it to the Dock from Launchpad to keep it one click away.
Not seeing “Add to Dock” in Safari? The feature requires macOS Sonoma (14) or newer. On older macOS versions, use Chrome or Edge instead.
