Add to Your Device

Install the Collaborative Operating System as an app — on your phone, tablet, or computer. No app store required.

1

Open in Safari

This only works in Safari — not Chrome or Firefox. If you opened this link in another browser, copy the URL and paste it into Safari.

Safari only
2

Tap the Share button

At the bottom of the screen, tap the Share icon — it looks like a box with an arrow pointing up.

3

Tap “Add to Home Screen”

Scroll down in the share menu and tap Add to Home Screen. You may need to scroll the second row of icons to find it.

4

Confirm the name and tap Add

You can edit the name if you’d like, then tap Add in the top right corner.

5

Done — find it on your home screen

The app icon will appear on your home screen. Tap it anytime to open the guide — it always loads the latest content.

💡

Why Safari? Apple only allows the “Add to Home Screen” app feature through Safari. Other browsers on iPhone can bookmark pages, but won’t create a true app icon.

1

Open in Chrome

Chrome gives you the best experience. Other Android browsers may also work, but Chrome is recommended.

2

Look for the install prompt

Chrome may automatically show a banner at the bottom of the screen saying “Add to Home screen” or “Install app”. If you see it, tap it and skip to step 4.

May appear automatically
3

Or use the menu

Tap the three-dot menu in the top right corner of Chrome, then tap Add to Home screen or Install app.

4

Confirm the install

A dialog will appear asking you to confirm. Tap Add or Install.

5

Done — find it on your home screen

The app icon will appear on your home screen. Tap it anytime to open the guide — it always loads the latest content.

💡

Looks just like a real app. On Android, installed web apps open without any browser bar or address field — it feels like a native app. It will also appear in your app drawer.

1

Open in Edge or Chrome

Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome both support installing this guide as a desktop app. Other browsers like Firefox don’t support installation the same way.

Edge or Chrome
2

Look for the install icon in the address bar

On the right side of the address bar, look for a small icon that looks like a monitor with a down arrow or a plus sign. Click it.

3

Or use the browser menu

If you don’t see the icon: in Edge, click the three-dot menu → AppsInstall this site as an app. In Chrome, click the three-dot menu → Cast, save, and shareInstall page as app.

4

Confirm and install

A dialog will appear. Click Install. The app will open in its own window — no browser bar, no tabs.

5

Pin it for easy access

The app is now in your Start menu. Right-click the app icon in the taskbar and choose Pin to taskbar, or drag it to your desktop for one-click access.

💡

Auto-updating. Once installed, the app always loads the latest version of the guide whenever you’re online — no manual updates needed.

1

Choose your browser

Safari (macOS Sonoma 14 or newer) supports “Add to Dock.” Chrome and Edge support “Install app” on any recent macOS.

Safari, Chrome, or Edge
2

In Safari: File → Add to Dock

With this page open in Safari, click File in the menu bar, then choose Add to Dock. Edit the name if you’d like, then click Add.

3

In Chrome or Edge: install icon in the address bar

Look for a small icon on the right side of the address bar — a monitor with a down arrow, or a plus sign — and click it. Or use the menu: three-dot menu → Install (Edge: AppsInstall this site as an app).

4

Confirm and install

Click Install or Add. The app opens in its own window without browser controls — like a native Mac app.

5

Find it in Launchpad & Dock

The app now appears in Launchpad and your Applications folder. Drag it to the Dock from Launchpad to keep it one click away.

💡

Not seeing “Add to Dock” in Safari? The feature requires macOS Sonoma (14) or newer. On older macOS versions, use Chrome or Edge instead.
